Tip 1-10

Tip 1

Give us a kiss!

Take two minutes for yourself. If you’re in the office, go to the toilet, if you’re at home with small kids, go to the toilet and lock the door. Sit down, close your eyes. take three deep breaths and think about the first kiss that gave you a warm feeling inside. Just the kiss itself, the feeling on your skin, the sensation in your blood, the excitement when it stopped. Feel it again and hold it for the two minutes.

Then walk out with a smile and go back to what you were doing.

Tip 2

Give someone a compliment. Yes, it’s that simple. Quite often people are not used to get a compliment. Especially from strangers. Tell the girl in the supermarket how nice her make-up is. Tell the community gardener it looks wonderful. Tell the teacher she did a good job.
Their facial expression makes you instantly happy. Try it!

Tip 3

Plan something. When you feel not happy at all and the day seems one long stretch start thinking about something nice that you like to do. Could be as big as planning a holiday or leaving work early to sit in the park. Plan the steps that you have to take for example save money, find destination, organize work, find dog sitter etc. It will give you something to look forward to.

Tip 4

Get up ten minutes earlier to do something for yourself. Doesn’t matter what time you have to get up at, everybody can get up ten minutes earlier. Fill those ten minutes with something that you do for you. Enjoying an extra cup of tea, paying more attention to your appearance or write something in your diary. It will set up your day perfectly.

Tip 5

Sing your favorite song out loud. Out of the top of your lungs. If you forgot the words look on Youtube. And sing!

Tip 6

Analyze 3 of your most time consuming tasks. Doesn’t matter if you like it or not. Doesn’t matter if you are obliged to do it. Look at every task as you were a stranger performing it. Tell that stranger what benefit that task will have in 10 years and in 20 years. What will that stranger learn from it? Then step out and be proud of yourself that you can see the long term benefits.

Tip 7

Count your blessings. It’s that simple. Sit still and think of 3 things that you are grateful for.

Tip 8

Do something for someone else. Think how you can make someone else happy. It can be as simple as calling your mother for a chat. Catch and throw a ball with the kids. Cook dinner for a friend. Whatever you do, it will make you feel good about yourself.

Tip 9

Love yourself. Love yourself with all your flaws. Love your body. Long, short, fat, skinny. Perfect does not exist. Even Halle Berry is half deaf.

Tip 10

There are always things to do that we postpone because we either don’t like doing it or there is no reward involved. But these things stay in the back of our mind and keep our thoughts cloudy. Promise yourself you will do one of these tasks a week. You’ll see…. it will become doable.
